hi humpback
unless you have a disability
would'nt it be simpler to use a hand winch same as used on
boat trailers that way you iliminate the need for
battery power /cables and handheld remotes after all 100kg isnt very much weight for a hand winch and no doubt will be avaible on ebay and bcf
just my thoughts
cheers

I don't know if this will help, but another member, Scrubby, posted a blog showing the
boat loader he made using his existing winch.

I've seen em using battery powered drills to power them.

Hi Baker,
I know this does not answer your question but we have a 'Rhino' side
boat loader and use a good quality drill to power it to load/unload our tinny. Its not as heavy as yours though ( ours is around 75kgs) but does a great job.
cheers Heather

You may find a 100kg
boat plus the rack on top of your vehicle with be too great a load. A landcruiser can carry 100kg on its roof but most other 4wd's cannot.

The motor's most commonly used are simply starter motors direct coupled to a reduction gearbox.
Choosing the correct ratio will need to be sorted out
Have you thought of using a cheap electric winch off ebay?. I have one (3000kg) with a remote control for less than $100 that I use to lift my
boat loader off and on the roof of the 'cruiser..........with some ingenuity one of these can easily be adapted to a
boat loader............same concept as scrubbys
boat loader except he uses the bull bar one
as for using power ...why not just keep your engine running.....when in use the power draw/use is irrelevant...and very low anyway
